Since training is when all the tangles are worked out, fall training is usually conducted with a four-wheeler for maximum braking and holding power. Two dogs can easily run away with a four-wheeler if the emergency brake is not engaged. It is most effective to train with two-people when teaching the pups "the ropes," or teaching new dogs to work together in a team. That way one person can stay with the vehicle, while the other can jump off to work with a dog as needed. In the winter an ice hook is used effectively to hold up to 16 dogs. Bicycles can be used effectively for training one dog at a time as a single leader but are not practical for training more than one dog at a time with any safety. Heavy carts are also used, but are most practical for use with well traiined teams.

We are currently training dogs at our kennel site on Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday late afternoons.
